Emily Potts has been working with Sugar House Coffee since 2013 and the cafe has been open since 2002. They are known best for their breads and coffee, however their food and treats are either housemade or from local pastry shops and shouldn’t be missed.
As COVID-19 became more serious, Sugar House Coffee had plans to close for a short while. When the health department announced they were putting heavier restrictions on restaurants, Potts feared they would not open again. Without their regular business they couldn’t stay open so possible solutions had to be explored. Then Potts saw a window on the side of the building and she got an idea. A drive by and walk up window was made and the business was transformed. By doing this, Sugar House Coffee has managed to stay open while following correct health protocols.
Potts’ main goal is to make sure every customer is safe and healthy as well as her team. So now if you decide to go by Sugar house Coffee it will look much different than it used to. Orders can be made on their website and be picked up behind the cafe on the pick-up table. Alternatively, customers can use the window on the south side of the building either by car or on foot to order. Walking up to the window is common, because people can maintain a safe distance but still socialize as well. Outside there are ten spaced tables for people to enjoy their drinks and treats.
Don’t miss out on the special offer/gift in the video and Sugar House Coffee hopes to see you soon!
